This article is about wind/air. You may be looking for water, quintessence, shadowflux, or fire.
The page for all elements is Elements.

Wind[1], also referred to as air, is known to be an essential part of the Earth's weather system[2]. In the Elvin world, it is also considered to be an element, as a part of the 6 elements classification system.[3]

Personality

All the elements have somewhat of a personality, as said by Lady Zillah in Flashback. She also mentions that wind "breathes," while the other elements may "dream" or "pulse." This makes sense, as breath is basically wind coming from oneself.

Though Sophie is not a guster, she did once mention that the wind was "a force that she couldn't manipulate," unlike other forces.[4]

Associated abilities

Gusters are the manifesters that can control the wind.

Known controllers of wind (Gusters)

Being a devoted and loving father, Marella's dad, "Lord" Redek, did everything he could in regards to his Gusting ability in order to help his daughter cope with her forbidden ability; Pyrokinesis.

As the Neverseen's Guster, Trix uses his power to hurt others. There is a theory that Trix is, in fact, Marella's father.

Element name contradictions

This element has been referred to as both wind as well as air in the series. Wind is essentially the movement of air, so both names work.

Elementalism

Wind is often bottled in the Elementalism class in Foxfire. You can capture this element in many different ways, as explained in the book Twenty-Five Ways to Catch the Wind. It can be captured in the form of tornados as well as regular wind.

Windy locations

In the fourth book, Sophie notes that one of the Exillium locations (Bosk Gorge) was very windy, and that everyone found it hard to move against the force of the wind.

In the third book, the Everblaze fire spread due to the amount of wind there; thus leading to the tragical death of former Councillor Kenric Elgar Fathdon.[5]

When Sophie and Grady visited Brant's home for the last time, it was very windy; and that hindered Sophie's and Grady's ability to do as much.

During the Mt. Everest ambush by the Neverseen, it was noted that there were extremely harsh and windy conditions.
