Namjoonie
Let’s start with RM, the leader of the group. His birth name is actually Kim NamJoon, A lot of Army’s call him Namjoon or Namjoonie. His stage name is RM but it used to be Rap Monster, he changed it to RM so it could have a double meaning, he said it stands for ‘Rap Monster’ and ‘Real me.’
He actually convinced Jungkook to sign with Big Hit Entertainment instead of one of the other, much bigger companies he got offers from. He didn’t blackmail Jungkook or anything like that; he just made Kookie believe in him and what he could do. Namjoon actually writes and produces the majority of BTS’s music which is more than 100 songs.
He’s often called one of the worst dancers in BTS, but is that even an insult? BTS has won multiple awards for their dancing and just the 7 members are better than half the world. Think about that, it’s absolutely crazy. So saying he’s one of the worst dancers of BTS isn’t really an insult at all. At the beginning he wasn’t even supposed to Dance, so he improved on dancing during his later trainee years and when they debuted, he’s still learning how to dance better and improving every day. And in his words, He’s Rap monster, not dance monster. That doesn’t seem like someone to hate on at all.
Yet another amazing thing about him, his IQ is 148. He’s 1% in the nation. Think about that number, it’s just, wow. And it shows too, he taught himself english just by watching the TV show friends. Keep in mind that he’s not just ok at english he’s fluent, he learned a whole new language by watching a show.
Najoonie is like the older, caring brother of BTS. He’s always there for all the members and is so kind and caring toward them. He holds them all together, he is truly one of the best leaders ever.
He’s the spokesperson and translator for BTS and he has many responsibilities. He has the pressure of deciding what is best for the group as a whole. You see what BTS is, you see what they’ve accomplished. Namjoon kept them from giving up, made good decisions for them. As Suga has said, “He protects us in many ways.”
To add to that, he always boosts the members confidence, often encouraging them to speak out at english interviews because they need to learn that learning english like that can help them speak it better. He also tries to get the members that are shy at interviews to feel more comfortable.
Whenever people Diss army or hate on Army Namjoon is quick to defend. He purples Army with all his heart and never says anything bad about them, always focusing on the positive.
He’s also very very thoughtful, for all the love songs he’s written after Love Yourself he’s used gender neutral pronouns so everyone feels included. This is yet another thing that shows how BTS is supportive of the LGBTQA+ community but that’s another blog post.
He’s never afraid to speak up. He’s always questioned society and what they mean by “beauty” or their definition of succeeding.
Instead of sticking to safe idol topics for songs Namjoon goes all out. He says he wants to make people feel less alone and teach them what it means to really be happy, he says even just one person is enough.
He’s said that he loves music because it makes him feel less sad and alone. Like all the members he struggles with depression but being with each other helps them, it makes them feel special like they should. Someone please give Joonie a hug 🥺.
He receives so much dumb and unnecessary hate but as any human would, he hurts when he sees it. He tries his best to ignore it but one time when he was reacting to hate comments you could just see the tears forming. It’s terrible. He used to struggle with his two identities as an Idol and a rapper because his haters told him he shouldn’t be both, couldn’t be both, that they weren’t the same thing. In his mixtape he delivers his thoughts, “Who am I?” “Every night I fight with my inner self”
Let’s move on to a less depressing part of him
One thing about Joonie is he manages to break everything. At this point it’s just ironic, he won’t even be touching something near him but it’ll break. He's said that he's broken newly bought things, Jimin even nicknamed him Mr. Clumsy
People tend to sleep on his mixtape which I don't get. It addresses so many problems and he makes it so perfect but people, even army's ignore it or don't know it exists. Read some of these lyrics. He starts his mixtape by talking about how he wasn't happy doing science and math like his parents wanted him to, he wasn't happy until he started rapping. "I didn't have any dreams like my lyrics. Every day the same way, formals and equations could not give me the answers. In the end those things turned into wounds. It wouldn't let me see the stars hidden behind it's light. Like that every day killing me. Meaninglessly, I spent my days on number games and grades. I just want to succeed. That's all I constantly heard from other people."
He wasn't happy, he wanted to do what he loved. And he finally got to do it.
Yet another thing: He’s just a full on Cutie-- When he’s at fan signs he insists that fans treat him like a friend and not an idol. He makes mistakes like a normal human being, he trips, he breaks stuff, he messes up when he speaks. He’s super truthful but always underestimates himself. Once at a fan sign an Army told him she got his card and because of an incident before he said “I’m sorry” because he thinks he’s ugly. I-
People often call him ugly. Like what- have you seen him? He’s super handsome, and even if that’s just Army’s opinion no one, no one should go around saying people are ugly. It hits hard, especially for that person. From the paragraph above you can already see how it’s affected him. But just look at him! Don’t tell me he’s ugly, that’s just something haters say to justify hating and it’s so wrong, I can’t even apgefiuyhgaoyeruihgouierhg.
The poor thing, no one should be treated like this or think this of themselves, especially someone who deserves so much more love and happiness in his life. I don’t want to rant too much about him in this blog post so I’ll just list a few more random facts! He is a big advocate for LGBTQA+ rights. His favorite colors are black, pink, and purple. He has a younger sister, Kim Kyung Min. His favorite number is 1. This is all I’ll write on Namjoonie/Namjoon/RM for now!
