I support Fitz and will always defend him against attacks.
People deal with negative feelings in different ways. Just because he's angry doesn't mean he's a terrible person and struggling with anger is not his fault.

    • No I agree with the first fandom user. I liked Fitz in the first few books, but then he became more a jerk as time went on. He only cares for Sophie when it's convenient for him or easy. Like when Alden's mind breaks in book 2, he blames Sophie for it. While I get that, if he truly cared for her like he says he does, he would have never reacted that way. Keefe has a heart of gold and genuinely wants Sophie to be happy. He has her best interest at heart, and Fitz doesn't. Fitz has too many anger issues and his moods/reactions to things are too unpredictable for him to ever be a good boyfriend or husband one day, at this point in time. Also, while struggling with anger doesn't automatically condemn him, he doensn't seem to be working on it either, or amending his behavior anytime soon. But, at the same time, I think that Keefe is too good for Sophie.

Unpopular opinion, but Sophie is high key a brat. She is always complaining about things or feeling bad for herself when she could be focusing on the postives.

Exhibit 1: every time she gets a new ability or learns something new about herself, she is always upset because she is afraid of being viewed as "other" or not "normal." Well, I'm sorry, but she can cry herself a river and get over it because while she continues to manifest new abilities left and right, other elves don't even have one. How can she have the nerve to complain about having an excess of abilities when most elves would kill to be as talented as she is? Why can't she just accept herself for who she is, and be thankful for all of the talents she's been given that allow her to help the lost cities!?

Exhibit 2: She hates Dame Alina, and why? Because she's doing her job. Dame Alina is a rule follower, and Sophie isn't, so that annoys her about her (Dame Alina). Also, Sophie's actions display that she believes herself to be above the law. She expects to be able to do whatever she wants without punishment, in the name of working for the Black Swan. This is why she dislikes anyone who doesn't immediately come to her defense or supports her cause.

I feel conflicted about Sophie because I have been reading these books from day one, and while I like them a lot, I am not the biggest fan of Sophie. I was in the beginning, but too often she just seems like an insecure, whiny brat.

    • I agree. I think that Fitz only likes Sophie for her looks. Sokeefe forever. Darella/Marex and Bam/Tiana. Litz/Finh or Winh/Lylie I can't decide.

    • Fitz  DOES NOT hurt Sophie. But it is alll an opinion, and shannon will choose.

    • I feel like Sophie shouldn't end up with anyone but instead just resolve everything with Fitz and whatever. It would become too much of a conflict between readers.
