I love Keepers of the Lost Cities as a whole, but as I progressed through the books something didn't feel right. I finally pinpointed it yesterday - where is Sophie's, the protagonist of the story, personality? Beyond solving clues and using her powers to do stuff, both of which aren't personality traits, what personality does she have? She has friends, duh, and she cares about them, as most people do., but that's not really a personality trait either. The only real personality trait I've found is that she was shy and nervous as a result of bullying in the human world. That doesn't really carry into the elf world, in which she spends most of her time.
So beyond the normal caring for family and friends, and solving mysteries, neither of which are real personality traits, what is Sophie Foster's personality?
I was brainstorming last night and I suppose she's very caring and strong-willed? But that doesn't make for a full personality.
But maybe I'm looking at this wrong. Perhaps she does have a personality, but it's so perfect and unrelatable and... mary-sue-ish that I've overlooked it. You tell me.
So I'll repeat... does Sophie have a personality? What are the traits that make it up? What are the negative traits in it?
