here's the first chapter, it's not very good, but whatever:
Chapter one
“Foxfire!” Sophie said, and watched as a crystal descended from the chandelier-like leapmaster, catching the sunlight and casting a beam of light on the floor. She stepped into the beam of light and glittered away.
She appeared again in Foxfire and rushed down a path she unfortunately knew by heart. She arrived at the healing center and gave a tentative knock on the door. Fitz opened it, and let her in. She immediately looked over at Keefe and felt her heart sink. He was still unconscious.
“Nothing’s changed?” she said, and Fitz shook his head regretfully. Keefe had been unconscious for over a week now. Sophie was wondering if Keefe would ever wake up. “It’s okay, you can go home, I’ll take it from here.” Sophie said.
“It’s okay, I’ll stay for a bit longer,” Fitz said. “I feel like I owe it to him. He’s probably the best friend someone could ask for. It’s just so—” Fitz stopped himself and took a deep breath. “I just feel like the worst things happen to the best people. Keefe doesn’t deserve this.” He gestured to Keefe’s sleeping form.
“No, he doesn’t,” Sophie said. She felt anger bubble up inside of her. When she saw Keefe’s mom again, she was going to—well, it wouldn’t be pretty.
Sophie was tired of this game the neverseen were playing, outsmarting her, running away from her. Sophie was sick of it. She was going to defeat the neverseen, once and for all. But how could she do that if they always knew her next move?
