Recap: Everyone snuck out at night. Larkin gets startled by Loki, who is in her Animagus form. Kokichi, after setting up repelling charms on the desks and secret-telling curses on the books in Professor Binns’ classroom, runs into Verona and Lucas. He proceeds to annoy the heck out of both students. Verona runs away, unable to handle the annoyingness of Kokichi. Verona runs into Gid and Iden, and they are currently talking. Fern runs into Lucas and Kokichi, asking if Lucas wanted to come with her to Hagrid’s hut. Kokichi, ignored, ditches them both, to the alarm of Lucas. Kokichi crashes into another student, who is currently unknown.
Lucas grabs Fern's arm and rushes to catch up to Kokichi. "We have got to find him before he gets himself expelled."
Verona sighs as Iden and Gideon continue to walk with her. "Is there something I should know about? Like, why everyone is sneaking out?" She decided not to mention the fact that she herself had snuck out.
Kokichi froze in his tracks. It was Ms. Norris, Filch’s cat. If she spotted him, Filch would be here in a flash. Kokichi quickly ducked into an empty, abandoned, un-used classroom. He cast a quick invisibility spell on himself. (Why didn’t he use that earlier? It’s more risky and more fun when there was a chance you would get caught. It would be less fun if he was discovered because of a freaking cat.)
Once Kokichi was sure that Ms. Norris and Filch wouldn’t find him, he ducked out of the classroom and continued on to the courtyard. (So how about this group of people is Loki and some other elves? Then we find out about the elf things and bam, now things will get interesting,) He tiredly fidgeted with the black-and-white checkered bandana he wore around his neck.
Loki transformed back to normal, smiling thinly when a group of cloaked elves appeared, pathfinders in their hands. She had contacted the Lost Cities a few minutes after discovering there were elves at Hogwarts, and now, they were here.
Kokichi skipped along the corridor towards the courtyard. Once he arrived, he was pretty confused. “Oh, uh, hey there random Ravenclaw. You know, you’ve got a group of very suspicious cloaked people behind you, and I’d really recommend you move away from them!”
Loki heard one of the Telepaths in her head. “Is that one of them?” Loki responded back with a simple thought of “Yes.”
Basically, Loki was like “frick this” and brought a bunch of elves over to explain things because she’s not stupid and somehow everyone knew to come to the courtyard? Idk maybe a Mesmer or telepath did something
((… okay... Do we decide what our characters abilities are??I am confuzzled..) Iden was walking with Verona and her brother when she got an idea. "Hey! Wanna go to the courtyard? I heard it looks even creepier at night!" She asked Verona, smiling for absolutely no apparent reason.
Gid grinned, thinking of last year when they dared two of their house mates to do the same thing. "Sure! How 'bout it Verona? We have GOT to get you a nickname by the way"
"Yeah nickname! What do other people call you?" Gid said, smiling and talking way to fast for his usual pace. "What about Ona or Ron? I don't know..." He added sheepishly, running a hand through his hair.
Loki gave Kokichi a vaguely amused look. “I’m quite aware, Ouma. Now then, you’re going to stay here and wait for the others.”
”The...others? Yknow, this is kind of creepy, so I’m gonna bounce! Peace!” Kokichi flashed a peace sign before quickly diving back the way he came in, but he made a very undignified noise as a forcefield appeared in front of him. “This is so NOT cool!”
"Then this will be your first!" He said, trying not to show his surprise, his nickname had been with him for most of his life! "How about Ron? 'Cause I am NOT saying Verona or 'hey you' every time I want to get your attention"
Iden was quiet, not because she was shy but bc she was figuring out how to best play matchmaker for her brother.
Loki turned to the cloaked elves behind her. “I am under the impression they assume you are a group of Death Eaters. Stupid name, really. It doesn’t even even make much sense. Eating death? Nontheless, you can drop the forcefield now, Psonipath, whichever one of you you are.”
Lucas prepares himself to smack Kokichi on the cheek- he was looking awfully gray.
Verona keeps her eyes locked on the cloaked people, shivering even more. "It's....let me go!" She breaks away from Gid and Iden, stumbling backwards to lean her back on the wall, all the while staring and turning pale as a ghost.
Rona chokes back a sob, sliding to the ground. She notices Lucas and Kokichi to the left of the hooded people and almost shouts for her cousin to come- but thinks better of it just as she opened her mouth. She wouldn't want the rebels to see them- or her.
"Hey, it'll be alright, just take a few deep breaths and we can talk." Gid said, trying to stay calm. He covered her hand on his arm with his own. Iden was watching both her brother and the group of strangers in cloaks.
One of the cloaked elves dropped their hood. “Hey, so it turns our y’all are all elves, so that’s great. Like, not those weird Christmas elves or those weird house elves you got, but like, cool elves with these awesome powers normal people and um, wizards, I guess, don’t have. So like, I can make forcefields and stuff, and Loki can do crap with technology! Cool, amirite?”
Loki gave the elf, whose name was Carmen, a long stare.
Kokichi, on the other hand, looked...relieved? “Finally, a person who doesn’t act cryptic and mysterious about our true identities! You should follow this guy’s example, Loki, because you suck at this dramatic reveal thing!”
"...Forcefields?" Lucas forgets himself by boldy speaking up. "Like....forcefield forcefields? Like this?" He creates a big forcefield in front of himself and Kokichi.
Verona starts to hyperventilate, but quickly gets it under control and stiffens. "We have to go over there," She tries to say confidently, but it sounds too much like she's dreading it- which she was. She clutches both Gid and Iden's hands as she rises shakily.
“...Yeah, that’s called a forcefield, idiot. And now you’ve shown off your cool abilities or whatever’s you call them to the people who are weird and saying they’re elves. #1 mistake of characters in stories, loser.” Kokichi said particularly loudly.
Loki snorted, very quietly, of course. She could probably work with Kokichi if she wanted to, and the result would be very...interesting, so to speak.
"Yeah. I do. Because I'm one of them." She touches the nearby grass and watches as the frost spreads across it, starting at her finger and covering the grass till it reached the group of figures, making them turn their heads.
Carmen rolled his eyes. (I’ve accidentially created another oc? Welp.) “GET WITH THE TIMES, MATE! SHE’S A COOL ELF WITH AN ABILITY WIZARDS AND CRAP DON’T HAVE! AND YOU ARE TOO! AND YOU, AND YOU, AND YOU, AND PROBABLY ALSO YOU!”
Kokichi whistled. “Wow, I could totally get along with you, dude. Or not. That could be a lie. And I could be lying about the lie. Reverse psychology? Reverse reverse reverse psychology? I don’t even know-I could be lying all along and you’d never know.” He responded, efrectively confusing everyone who heard.
Loki sighed, “In other words, there’s another world out there where a humanoid species, called elves, live. Some have special abilities, such as speaking all languages heard, ice control, forcefield formation, mind reading, sensing emotions...I suppose you get the gist of it. I, myself, have to ability to be able to understand and craft any invention, technology, etc. It appears that I am not the only elf here. I’m under the impression that several elves, or partial elves, have become wizards or witches here, whilst having manifested abilities.”
Lucas cannot believe his ears. Or eyes! Verona had revealed herself!
Verona lets out a scared, shaky laugh. "What? No, no, no way. We may have....special...abilities....but we cannot be.....ELVES." She laughs again. "There's no way in Hogwarts we could be...." She pales. "...Elves."
