Nightmares
The darkness followed him
Never stopping
Ready to overtake him as soon as he slowed down.
Worthless
Failure
Useless
Traitor
The darkness got closer, Keefe clawed towards the light reaching for something to hold.
Dissapointment
Fake
Liar
He started to slip
A girl's face beckoned to him
"I could never hate you."
He tried to grasp the image
Tried to reach her
Suddenly she turned away, and he fell.
Darkness
Nothing

Cassius woke to a crash, jumped out of bed, and began climbing the stairs to Keefe's bedroom. If that boy had broken another one of his vases he was going to strangle him.
Footsteps pounding down on each step, Cassius couldn't help but wonder what was wrong with that Keefe. He this horrible habit of doing the opposite of what was good for him.
He stopped..
Turning the handle slowly he peeked in.
Keefe was on the ground staring at his hands, there was something on them Cassius realized mortified.
Blood
It was dripping down his fingers, staining the ground as it pooled beneath him.
On the ground was a shattered vase, but for once Cassius wasn't worried about his vase, he was worried about his son. Keefe's face was a mix of horror and fear as he looked at the blood trickling down his palms.
"Keefe, is everything alright." Cassius asked cautiously.
Keefe's head whipped towards him, his expression turned to anger, "Leave Me Alone. You never cared before, you don't get to care now!"
Knowing he was not wanted Cassius did as he requested and shut the door.
The door closed, Cassius shuddered, and was filled with regret.
Regret that he was not a better person.
Regret that he hadn't been a better father.
Regret.. that he hadn't cared before.
So many things he wished he could take back, but he couldn't...
But...he could try to make amends.
