it's actually a fanfic that I worked very hard on for hours
This is the first fanfiction I've dared to write, because I usually screw up the plot and stop writing. Well... NOT TODAY! Please enjoy it(FYI, this is just me trying to predict book 8.5, not a shipping story of any sort, there are ships but that's just me trying to make it realistic) As the real version goes, this will be aternating between Keefe and Sophie's perspectives. so here we go!! (also this first part will be kinda weird just stick with me ok (chapters will be really long
Chapter One
KEEFE
A blurred, dizzying darkness blanketed everything.
It had been that way for a while.
Alright. Sleep.
Sometimes a voice would cut throught the black, and everything would be clear and bright.
But then the darkness came back.
It always came back.
Images mixed into the darkness.
A beach with dark sand, the waves rushing over it.
A sense of both sadness and anger.
A face, mostly obscured.
A figure rounding a corridor.
It all felt like a part of him. A memory he’d forgotten, hiding in the back of his mind.
Something stirred.
The darkness awoke..
It was moving, crawling away.
Not forever, but for now was enough.
The light shone through.
It was bright, too bright.
Suddenly-
The white ceiling of the healing center was the first thing Keefe saw.
He sat up, quite abruptly. Nobody was in the room. A quick glance out the window told him it was the middle of the night.
Alone at night in Foxfire?
It felt like the perfect time to pull a second Great Gulon Incident. But Keefe really didn’t have the energy.
Quite honestly, he was glad to be alive.
A scene played across his mind.
Sophie, shoved to the ground, her voice in his mind.
His mom, standing there, her lips forming to words-
He shoved the memory away. It was too fresh, too soon to remember.
Keefe relaxed, laying back on the headboard of his bed. How long had he been here? Days? Weeks? Months? It probably didn’t matter.
Had everyone made it out?
Fitz, Lihn, Biana, Marella, Maruca, Sophie-
It was all his fault.
His stupid idea.
“Hey, everybody, let’s go die! While we’re at it, we can give the Neverseen exactly what they want!” Keefe mocked himself.
A small burst of laughter escaped his lips. What an absolute idiot he had been.
