Psionipathy (sigh-on-ih-path-ee) is one of the many abilities that elves may manifest. Psionipaths are capable of creating force fields and energy beams.
Maruca's Psionpathy
These force fields may be temporary or permanent in nature; Maruca and Ruy have used temporary force fields to protect themselves or trap others during battle; the force field enveloping Atlantis is quite permanent, although small areas have been breached in extreme situations.
Known Side Effects[]
A psionipath can temporarily lose the ability to use their powers when a Flasher shines the entire color spectrum onto them.
According to Della Vacker, Psionipaths are often mentally unstable, though not as unstable as Pyrokinetics.

Breaking Through Force Fields[]

The force fields, while quite resistant, are not impenetrable. They can be breached by shadowvapor or bypassed entirely by shadowflux, both capable of being wielded and controlled by powerful shades (such as Tam Song). Black Swan pendants, when thrown directly at them, can break force fields. Psionipaths are capable of undoing the work of other psionipaths, creating holes in or even destroying force fields entirely. Dex Dizznee designed gadgets capable of breaking force fields; the amount of gadgets needed to break a force field directly corresponds to how strong a force field is.

Important Force Fields[]
It is implied that several powerful Psionipaths created the bubble that separates Atlantis from the surrounding oceans. The Council is noted to have a team of powerful Psionipaths who can repair the shield around Atlantis; this was mentioned when Sophie Foster, Keefe Sencen, and Linh Song used their abilities to prevent water from pouring into Atlantis after Ruy Ignis punctured a hole in the Psionipathic shield enveloping Atlantis.
Known Psionipaths[]
- Ruy Ignis — A member of the Neverseen. Sophie Foster and Biana Vacker first met him in a forest during Neverseen.
- Maruca Chebota — A Foxfire prodigy, the same age as Sophie Foster. She manifested in Legacy and then asked to help Sophie and the Black Swan against the Neverseen. During the events in Loamnore, Lady Gisela tricked Maruca and used her own force field for defense.
- 8 Unknown Psionipaths — It was revealed in Neverseen that there were 9 psionipaths in the record of Exillium, including Ruy.
- Black Swan's Psionipath — It was revealed in Neverseen by Mr. Forkle that one of the psionipaths in the Black Swan created the force field that surrounded Gethen's underwater prison cell.
- Noble Psionipaths - the Council was noted to have a team of psionipaths that could repair the shields around Atlantis. It was imperative that Sophie, Keefe, and Linh prevent water from entering Atlantis before this team could arrive.
