Sophie Elizabeth Foster is very hot. She has wavy red hair that reaches just past her shoulders. Her eyes are a grey and blue with flecks of green. She has D cup breasts, with clean-shaven legs and pussy that Biana obviously knows about. She also has a fetish for watching her partner masturbate. She masturbates quite a lot to the sounds of her guardians banging and is very horny all the time. She is no longer a virgin, properly having sex since she was 14, and was fingered since the age of 9. She masturbates easily, and she has a lady jam, mainly to Crazy Youngsters, which turns her on. She gets wet dreams for her friends all the time. Her guardians don't know she masturbates and they bring her to a sex club so that she can have some experience. Obviously, Sophie has the time of her life there, having banged at least 10 people in the night. She comes back home, still horny, and wants to have a threesome with Grady and Edaline. Since they are not blood related, they agree. They have sex together. In the elvish world, you can get pregnant by women as well and men can also get pregnant. Men also have to deal with periods. Also, when you reach the age of 9, you get to chose if you want a vigina, a penis, or both. Sophie chose both. She can now get erect, masturbate both ways and can bang herself easily.
Sophie Elizabeth Foster is described as very pretty, a natural trait of [[Elves|elves.]] She has wavy blonde hair that reaches just past her shoulders. Her eyes are a warm [[Brown Eyes|brown]] with flecks of gold, probably due to her [[Alicorn|alicorn]]-based DNA. As of ''[[Book 2: Exile|Exile]]''[[Book 2: Exile|,]] she has a star-shaped scar on the back of her hand.

Sophie also has a [[Wanderling|Wanderling,]] a remnant from her falsely assumed death in [[Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities|Book 1: ''Keeper of the Lost Cities''.]] It has golden leaves that cover the branches and dark brown seedpods. It is a plain, basic tree with no flowers or colors.Sophie believed that it was because of her malfunctioning DNA.

== Personality and Traits ==

Sophie is first depicted as a lonely and shy girl, a 12-year-old among high school seniors. She was an outcast in the [[Forbidden Cities]] because she was incredibly intelligent, often called a know-it-all because of it. Her outstanding grades and [[Photographic Memory|photographic memory]] annoyed her [[Humans|human]] peers. Because of this, she often wore dull colors, like black or grey, and had very low self-esteem. Too much attention still makes her uncomfortable in the [[Lost Cities|Lost Cities.]]

At first, Sophie had a hard time accepting the fact that she was an [[About the Elves|elf,]] but this did not deter her curiosity. She always wants to learn more about the [[About the Elves|Elvin]] world and gets frustrated when others don't tell her what she wants to know.

Sophie's most prominent trait is her protectiveness and willingness to help her friends, even if it harms herself. [[Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities|Book 1: ''Keeper of the Lost Cities'']] showed this when she nearly faded away escaping the [[Neverseen]] because she wrapped all her concentration around [[Dexter Alvin Dizznee|Dex]]. She is headstrong and brave. Even if something seems dangerous, she always wants to help, especially when her friends and family are involved. Sophie often doubts herself and sometimes needs reassurance to boost her self-confidence. She has a habit of tugging out loose eyelashes when she is nervous. She often cries when she's frustrated, usually on her friends' shoulders. She also has a high guilt level. Her [[Ruewen|family]] is very supportive and understands her feelings.She is described as 'mysterious' by Keefe Sencen.

Sophie doesn't enjoy wearing [[Elvin Clothing|fancy clothes]] because she believes it brings attention towards her, although many compliment her when she does. After [[Manifest|manifesting]] as an [[Enhancer]], she started dressing more like [[Biana Vacker|Biana]] to camouflage the gloves she had to wear.

Sophie is also very determined, refusing to give up despite any situation. A prime example would be her constant attempts to contact [[Fitzroy Avery Vacker|Fitz]] in [[Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities|Book 1: ''Keeper of the Lost Cities'']] after the Neverseen kidnapped her, despite their threats.

== [[Special Abilities]] ==

Sophie, as of ''[[Legacy]]'', is a [[Telepath|Telepath,]] [[Inflictor|Inflictor,]] [[Polyglot|Polyglot,]] [[Teleporter|Teleporter,]] and [[Enhancer|Enhancer.]] She is likely the most powerful known [[Elves|elf]] in the [[Lost Cities|Lost Cities.]] Yet, the books hint that she might have more undiscovered [[abilities|abilities.]] Even though it is not a [[Abilities|special ability]], Sophie also has a powerful [[Photographic Memory|photographic memory]][[Keefe Sencen|.]] She can perform [[Brain Push|brain pushes]], transforming mental energy into physical energy. She can also speak to [[:Category:Animals|animals]] [[Telepath|telepathically.]]

=== [[Telepath]] ===

Sophie has been able to read minds since she was five. [[Mr. Forkle|Mr. Forkle,]] the leader of the [[Black Swan]], activated the ability when she was unconscious after hitting her head. Many consider her the most powerful [[Telepath]] in the [[Lost Cities|Elvin world]]. She is able to communicate [[Telepath|telepathically]] incredible distances, even while injured and sedated. She is also the only elf who can safely enter and heal a broken mind. Sophie can also read the minds and hear the thoughts of [[:Category:Animals|animals,]] unlike any other Elves. She later teaches [[Fitzroy Avery Vacker|Fitz]] how to do this. She can use her abilities to pinpoint others' exact locations, which she first realized while playing a game of [[Base Quest|base quest]] at [[Everglen]]. Her [[Foxfire]] [[mentor]] is [[Tiergan]]; before that, [[Mr. Forkle]] trained her mind while she was asleep. [[Mr. Forkle]] is the only elf that Sophie cannot read the mind of. Even the most powerful, well-trained [[Telepath]]s cannot block her from reading their minds.

Only [[Mr. Forkle]] and [[Fitzroy Avery Vacker|Fitz Vacker]] can read her thoughts. They have a unique code that allows them to bypass Sophie's blocking subconsciously. Though Sophie does not know what they transmit, we know that [[Fitzroy Avery Vacker|Fitz]] transmits "It's me" (revealed in [[Book 7: Flashback|Book 7: ''Flashback'']] [[Fitzroy Avery Vacker|Fitz]] short story). [[Fitzroy Avery Vacker|Fitz]] and Sophie are also [[Cognates|cognates.]]

=== [[Polyglot]] ===

Sophie showed signs of being a [[Polyglot]] while she was escaping her kidnappers in the first book. [[Mr. Forkle]] triggered the ability after rescuing them. She then spoke to someone in French without realizing it, and Dex recognized that it was a different language. Although some think that she was a Polyglot from the beginning of Book 1, she was not. Elves speak the [[Enlightened Language]] from birth, which is why she said "Suldreen" (moonlark) as a baby (mistaken for "Soybean" by her parents). [[Alden Vacker|Alden]] told her that being a [[Polyglot]] would help her in [[Multispeciesial Studies]], a [[Foxfire]] subject. This ability is also why she takes [[Linguistics]], an Elite class. She struggles with [[Mimicry|Mimicking]], though, an important [[Skills|skill]] in [[Linguistics]]. After [[Keefe]] used [[Mimicry|Mimicking]] to give [[Councillor Kenric Elgar Fathdon|Kenric's]] [[Caches|cache]] to the [[Neverseen]] in [[Book 4: Neverseen|Book 4]]. Her [[Linguistics]] instructor is [[Lady Cadence Talle|Lady Cadence]].

=== [[Inflictor]] ===

Sophie has this [[Abilities|ability]] because of the [[Black Swan|Black Swan's]] tweaking of her genes. The first time she used the [[Abilities|ability]] (other than the time she inflicted on Amy) was when she made her [[Neverseen|kidnappers]] fall to the ground in pain in [[Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities|Book 1: ''Keeper of the Lost Cities.'']] She can harness her emotions by imagining them as thick strings that she keeps tied in a mental knot beneath her ribs. She can inflict both positively and negatively. Normally, [[Inflictors]] can only inflict negative emotions, but because of the tweaks made to her DNA, which was loosely based on an [[Alicorn|alicorn's]], she can inflict positive emotions as well. She can bring people's minds back from a [[Broken Mind|mental break]] by inflicting positive emotions. Her instructor is [[Councillor Bronte]], who was previously the only registered [[Inflictors|Inflictor]] in the [[About the Elves|Elvin]] world. Then in [[Book 8: Legacy|Book 8: ''Legacy'']] she undergoes another limbium dose (an Elvin substance which she is deathly allergic to) to reset her inflicting and enhancing, hence making them both more powerful. After she completed the treatment, she can inflict on a specific person or people, so she doesn't take down everyone around her when she inflicts. Now her inflicting comes out of her forehead in a lightning-like red and pink beam, as shown on the cover of [[Book 8: Legacy|''Legacy''.]]

=== [[Photographic Memory]] ===

Sophie also has a [[Photographic Memory|photographic memory,]] helped her excel academically in her [[Humans|human]] schools. When Sophie sees something, she can remember it in her mind exactly how she saw it in vivid detail. She uses her [[Photographic Memory|photographic memory]] for the [[Memory Log|memory log]] that [[Alden Vacker|Alden]] gave her, which keeps track of different moments for her to reference. She projects her memory onto the pages and often finds hidden messages in them when she looks closely at them. This ability helps Sophie a lot in classes such as [[The Universe|The Universe,]] as she has the [[stars]] memorized. It also allows her to remember information the [[Black Swan]] planted in her mind while she was living in the [[human]] world.

=== [[Teleporter]] ===

[[File:Sophie_and_Silveny_flying.png|thumb]]Acquired from the similarities to [[Alicorn|alicorns]] in her genes, Sophie can [[teleporter|teleport]] like [[Silveny|Silveny,]] [[Greyfell|Greyfell,]] and, presumably, the [[Luna and Wynn|baby alicorns,]] [[Luna]] and [[Wynn|Wynn.]] Sophie is the only known [[About the Elves|elf]] who can [[Teleporter|teleport.]] When [[Teleporter|teleporting,]] Sophie must build momentum by falling from a high place, such as a cliff, or by levitating and then dropping, and, in ''[[Book 8: Legacy|Legacy,]]'' she gained the ability to enter the void by sprinting. After entering the void, all she has to do is imagine the place she'd like to go to and she will fall through the sky and out of the void to it. Sophie cannot teleport through anything solid (underground, such as [[Exile|''Exile'',]] into buildings, or into the [[The Sanctuary|Sanctuary,]] which is located in a mountain range). In ''[[Legacy|Legacy,]] ''it is found out that she can [[Teleporter|teleport]] while building momentum and running quickly; she doesn't need to jump off a cliff. This might be due to an exercise she does with [[Oralie|Councillor Oralie]] or an observation made by [[Keefe]] when comparing [[Luna]] and [[Wynn|Wynn’s]] [[teleportation]] to hers.

=== [[Enhancer]] ===

Sophie can [[Enhancer|enhance]], or temporarily improve, someone's energy and [[Abilities|ability]]. Her body builds up energy in her fingertips and releases it through physical contact. This requires her to wear gloves whenever in public, so she doesn't accidentally boost someone's energy. [[Dexter Alvin Dizznee|Dex]] once attempted to give Sophie [[Crush Cuffs|crush cuffs]] with a force-field that prevents the need for gloves, but she declined.

In [[Book 7: Flashback|Book 7: ''Flashback,'']] [[Tinker]] invents a gadget attached to Sophie's fingernails to block her [[Enhancer|Enhancing.]] She can turn on and off this effect by simply tapping her fingernails together. [[Mr. Forkle]] informed her that there is no way for her to lock it at any time, placing her in a precarious position because an enemy could force her to turn off the force field and enhance them; however, she took the risk anyway because of the advantages the fake nails presented. This [[Abilities|ability]] is not a result of her genetic modification, and it is stated that [[Mr. Forkle]] decided not to include this [[Abilities|ability]] in her genetic code because of the risk it presents. Sophie may have never [[Manifest|manifested]] this [[Abilities|ability]] if [[Mr. Forkle]] hadn't triggered it in ''[[Book 5: Lodestar|Lodestar]]''[[Book 5: Lodestar|.]]

In ''[[Legacy]]''[[Legacy|,]] she resets her [[Enhancer|enhancing]] and [[Inflictor|inflicting]] [[abilities]] with another dose of [[Limbium|limbium.]] They become much stronger than they were before and she needed to wear multiple pairs of gloves, along with her usual fingernail gadgets, so she didn't [[Enhancer|enhance]] anyone. [[Edaline Ruewen|Edaline,]] [[Livvy|Livvy,]] [[Biana|Biana,]] [[Dex|Dex,]] and [[Wylie]] all needed two pairs not to feel the effects of her enhancing. [[Stina]] needed three, [[Fitz]] and [[Mr. Forkle]] needed four, and [[Keefe]] needed six layers, although after all of that he still felt some of her energy. [[Mr. Forkle]] was convinced that if she wanted, she could find a way within herself to turn the enhancing off without any gadgets. After a freeing exercise with [[Oralie|Councillor Oralie,]] she found that she can turn them on and off at her will.

== Relationships ==

* '''[[Foster (Freeman) Family|HUMAN FAMILY]] '''

Sophie seemed to have had a very strong relationship with her [[Foster (Freeman) Family|human family]], and still has one with her [[Amy Rose Foster|younger sister]]. She cried when the time came for her to be separated from them and was depressed for a short time. Her human father is [[William David Foster]] (Connor Freeman), her human mother is [[Emma Iris Foster]] (Kate Freeman), and her sister is [[Amy Foster|Amy Rose Foster]] (Natalie Freeman). When Sophie left for the [[Lost Cities|Lost Cities,]] [[Washer]]s relocated her human family and wiped all their memories of Sophie so they didn't have to think their daughter died. This is why they have new names.

She used to think her younger sister, [[Amy Rose Foster|Amy,]] was annoying, but when the time came for her to move to the [[Lost Cities]] and have her family's memories erased, she realized she cared for her.

At the end of ''[[Book 5: Lodestar|Lodestar]]''[[Book 5: Lodestar|,]] Sophie thought her family might be in danger from the [[Neverseen]], so she visited their new home. She realized that the [[Neverseen]] had already been there. The [[Neverseen]] had kidnapped her parents, but her sister had successfully hidden from them. Seeing Sophie and hearing her speak returned [[Amy Rose Foster|Amy's]] memories of Sophie.

In [[Book 6: Nightfall|Book 6: ''Nightfall'',]] [[Amy Rose Foster|Amy]] came to live with [[Quinlin Sonden]] and [[Livvy|Livvy.]] She learned about the [[Lost Cities]] and became closer to Sophie. Sophie rescued her parents from the [[Neverseen]], and their memories were again wiped by [[Washer]]s, except for [[Amy]], who was allowed to keep her memories on the condition that she would never mention the [[Forbidden Cities]].

[[Amy]] and Sophie don't see each other again until [[Book 8: Legacy]] when Mr. Forkle gives both of them a painful memory back. They try to spend time catching up but are rushed along so they can finish before [[Amy Rose Foster|Amy's]] parents come back.[[File:Fitz Vacker Color.jpg|thumb|240x240px|Fitz Vacker]]

* '''[[Fitzroy Avery Vacker|FITZ]] ([[cognates|Cognate]]/close friend/[[Sophie and Fitz|boyfriend]])'''

Fitz and Sophie first met when he was sent on a mission to find her in the [[Forbidden Cities]] and bring her to the [[Lost Cities]], and she has had a crush on him since then.fitz is kind and caring Over time, the two of them grow to become close friends, relying on one another in near-death encounters. In ''[[Book 4: Neverseen|Neverseen]]'', they begin training to become [[Cognates]]. To do so, the two must put their trust in each other and share any secrets they previously kept to themselves. Fitz is also the only [[Telepath]], besides [[Mr. Forkle]], capable of reading Sophie’s mind. Sophie and Fitz are shown to have a close bond and can telepathically transmit to one another over vast distances.

In [[Book 7: Flashback|''Flashback'']], Sophie and Fitz finally admit to their crushes on one another, but they decide to hold off on a relationship until Sophie is ready for one. As of [[Book 8: Legacy|''Legacy'']], the two have broken up sadly over a disagreemen. Later on, Fitz apologized for how he has hurt her, and they decide to halt their relationship until they can work their issues out they will most likley get back together.

[[File:Sophitz.png|thumb|220x220px]]

[[File:Keefe Sencen Color.jpg|thumb|240x240px|Keefe Sencen]]

* '''[[Keefe Sencen|KEEFE]] (friend)'''

[[Keefe]] and [[Sophie Elizabeth Foster|Sophie]] first met in the halls of [[Foxfire]]. [[Sophie Elizabeth Foster|Sophie]] was heading to the [[Healing Center]] and [[Keefe]] was ditching class. Since then, the two have been in [[detention]] together numerous times. Being an [[Empath]], [[Keefe]] can feel [[Sophie Elizabeth Foster|Sophie]]'s emotions much stronger than he can feel others', even when he is not in contact with her, like his father [[Lord Cassius Sencen|Lord Cassius]]. [[Keefe]] enjoys teasing and jokingly flirting with [[Sophie Elizabeth Foster|Sophie]] at times, even self-proclaiming himself as president of the 'Foster Fan Club.'

Instead of calling Sophie by her first name, [[Keefe Sencen|Keefe]] frequently calls her by her last name, [[Foster (Freeman) Family|Foster]], as well as often making comments about "Team [[Foster (Freeman) Family|Foster]]-[[Keefe]]." When the two, along with their friends, run off to join the Black Swan, [[Keefe]] reveals one of his biggest insecurities to Sophie, admitting that he hides behind jokes to cope with how he feels. It is how he deals with life. Sophie was the first and only person to see [[Keefe]] for who he actually is beneath all the jokes.

While staying at [[Alluveterre]], [[Sophie Elizabeth Foster|Sophie]] was there for [[Keefe]], helping him deal with the possibility of losing his [[Lady Gisela|mother]]. At the end of the book, [[Keefe]] gifted Sophie with a hand-painted beaded necklace he had originally made for [[Lady Gisela|his mother]]. [[Keefe]] joined the [[Neverseen]] after that.

Throughout [[Book 5: Lodestar|''Lodestar'']], [[Keefe]] and Sophie had [[Telepath|telepathic]] check-ins every day where [[Keefe]] filled Sophie in on any important information regarding the [[Neverseen|Neverseen.]] She constantly pleaded with him to leave the organization, but he refused. At the end of the book, during the attack on [[Lumenaria]], [[Keefe]] promised Sophie that he would always be there for her. This proved handy when things between [[Sophie]] and [[Fitz]] were tense and awkward, so she came to [[Keefe]] for moral support.

In the [[Keefe Short Story (Nightfall)|Barnes and Noble Special Edition Short Story]] of ''[[Book 6: Nightfall]]''[[Book 6: Nightfall|,]] [[Keefe Sencen|Keefe]] admitted that he had a crush on [[Sophie Elizabeth Foster|Sophie.]] [[Ro]] says that he "has it bad for her." [[Keefe Sencen|Keefe]] tried to escape bed rest many times, and he even tried to escape just so he could know if Sophie was safe. He only felt slightly better when [[Elwin]] promised to give him an update on Sophie. While he was stuck on bed rest and [[Romhilda|Ro]] was destroying [[Candleshade]], he dreamed about "golden flecked eyes." He also vowed to always be there for her as a friend until she was "ready for more." He also confirmed that there was a love square, not a triangle. This was before [[Sophie]] and [[Dexter Alvin Dizznee|Dex's]] awkward incident, so this information is not correct anymore. Now sophie only thinks of keefe as a friend. Keefe does not like sophie anymore and completly supports her getting with fitz.[[File:Dex Dizznee Colour.jpg|thumb|240x240px|Dex Dizznee]]

* '''[[Dexter Alvin Dizznee|DEX]] ([[Sophie and Dex|close friend]]/adoptive cousin)'''

[[Dexter Alvin Dizznee|Dex]] is Sophie's first and best friend, as stated in the books, although [[Biana]] also considers herself to be Sophie's best friend. [[Dexter Alvin Dizznee|Dex]] cares deeply about Sophie, and he often studies with her for their exams. He was with her when she was kidnapped and was also taken in the first book.

In the earlier books, he strongly disapproved of Sophie associating herself with [[Fitzroy Avery Vacker|Fitz]] and his family, claiming that they are a bunch of distrustful people and often referred to [[Fitzroy Avery Vacker|Fitz]] as "Wonderboy." Although Sophie ignored his warning and later learned that [[Biana Vacker|Biana]] only became friends with her because [[Alden Vacker|Alden]] ordered her to, [[Dexter Alvin Dizznee|Dex]] supported her despite their previous argument.

In [[Book 2: Exile|''Exile'']], Sophie tried to talk to him privately about their kidnapping because she felt that they were the only ones who could understand it. During the conversation, [[Dexter Alvin Dizznee|Dex]] admitted he kept quiet and didn't scream for help so that the kidnappers wouldn't hurt Sophie. When Sophie needed his help opening the gate to the Cliffside pasture, he came and helped despite his reluctance and fear. He was also with Sophie when they found [[Silveny]], one of two [[Alicorn|alicorns]] in the world at the time. It is also mentioned that he came around to [[Havenfield]] and Sophie often roped him in to help her with her chores, such as washing the various animals at the pastures.

In ''[[Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities]]'', his [[Skills|ability]] as a [[Technopath]] was revealed and Sophie comforted him about it, often reassuring him that it was a cool ability. During the book, he began working with [[the Council]] and building gadgets (or as he slipped up and said, "[[weapons]]"). When Sophie had been issued a punishment for entering the [[King Dimitar|ogre king's]] mind, he was ordered to make her an [[Ability Restrictor|ability restrictor]]. Although he regretted listening to the Council, it still took time for Sophie to forgive him. When she was ambushed by [[Brant]], he responded to her [[Panic Switch|panic switch]] ring alert and took her circlet off even though it meant possibly being exiled. He joins her in running off to the [[Black Swan]], showing his loyalty and friendship.

In [[Book 4: Neverseen|''Neverseen'']], their friendship was still a little bit complicated but she completely forgave him.

In [[Book 5: Lodestar|''Lodestar'']], all her friends gathered at his house, [[Rimeshire]], for a sleepover to analyze scrolls and find out the [[Neverseen|Neverseen's]] secrets. Sophie commented on how nice his house was and they both blushed when the triplets teased them.

In [[Book 6: Nightfall|''Nightfall'']], [[Dex]] was absent for many chapters because of an "embarrassing" incident with Sophie. He had modified [[Crush Cuffs|crush cuffs]] that had his name on them to act as restrainers for her [[Enhancer|Enhancing]]. He admitted that he had had the crush cuffs since the last year when he was too scared to give them to her at midterms; she told him that it was very sweet. She kissed him to determine if either of them truly had feelings for each other. They did not and they departed as best friends. It confirmed that starting in the first book, [[Dex]] has liked Sophie as more than a friend.

As of [[Book 7: Flashback|''Flashback'']], Sophie and [[Dex]] remain best friends, and [[Dex]] has even begun to joke about his previous crush on Sophie, proving that he has moved on.[[File:Biana Vacker Colour.jpg|thumb|240x240px|Biana Vacker]]

* '''[[Biana Vacker|BIANA]] (close friend/)'''

[[Biana]] disliked Sophie at first, but they eventually grew to be friends. She first became friends with Sophie because her [[Alden Vacker|father]] made her (which Sophie found out via [[Stina Heks|Stina]]), but as she got to know Sophie, [[Biana]] became a genuine friend of hers, even crying when Sophie was taken. [[Biana Vacker|Biana]] has proven herself to be a fierce and loyal friend to Sophie. [[Biana Vacker|Biana]] occasionally lends Sophie clothes, always saying she looks good in them. She has used her Vanishing ability to go on secret missions with Sophie. [[Calla]], a [[Gnomes|gnome]], could see her even when she [[Vanisher|Vanished]], and [[Biana]] worked hard to try and find a way to hide from her. Eventually, she figured out the secret and made it impossible for any gnome to know if she's there or not. During [[Book 6: Nightfall|''Nightfall'']], [[Biana]] [[Vanisher|Vanished]], knocking off Fintan's thinking cap so the rest of the group could take him on and taking on [[Vespera]]. She now has many scars all over her arms, neck, face, and back. She sometimes hides them with long sleeves but lets them show when she wants to make a statement about how the [[Neverseen]] can't break her. In [[Legacy]], [[Biana]] becomes part of [[Team Valiant]] with Sophie and is always ready to help Sophie in any way. [[File:Tam Song Color.jpg|thumb|236x236px|Tam Song]]

* '''[[Tam Song|TAM]] (good friend/[[Sophie and Tam|possible love interest]])'''

Sophie and her friends first met [[Tam Song]] and his twin sister [[Linh Song|Linh]] in [[Book 4: Neverseen|''Neverseen'']], when they went to [[Exillium]]. [[Tam Song|Tam]] is a [[Shades|Shade]], meaning he can manipulate shadows and darkness, read people's potential for darkness using a substance called [[shadowvapor]], and, sometimes, control shadowflux. He will not trust anyone until he has taken said [[shadowvapor]] reading. [[Tam Song|Tam]] is rather cynical and extremely protective of [[Linh Song|Linh]]. He went to be with his sister after she was banished for flooding [[Atlantis]]. [[Tam Song|Tam]] has hinted that he likes [[Biana Vacker|Biana]]. In ''[[Flashback]]'', he went to the [[Neverseen]] to take Umber's place in exchange for the antidote for the [[soporidine]] shot onto the [[alicorn]]s, [[Silveny]] and [[Greyfell]]. At the end of [[Legacy|''Legacy'',]] [[Tam]] returns from the [[Neverseen]] with [[Glimmer|Glimmer.]][[File:Linh Song Color.jpg|thumb|240x240px|Linh Song]] [[File:Marella2.PNG|thumb|243x243px|Marella Redek]]

* '''[[Linh Song|LINH]] (good friend)'''

Sophie and [[Linh Song|Linh]] have been friends since the first moment they met and are incredibly loyal in their friendship, shown in ''[[Book 5: Lodestar|Lodestar]]'' when Sophie defended the twins when confronting their parents, [[Quan Song|Quan]] and [[Mai Song|Mai]] [[Song]]. She seems slightly jealous of the admiration [[Linh Song|Linh]] has for [[Fitz]], making her feel bad because she likes [[Linh Song|Linh]]. [[Linh Song|Linh]] is a [[Hydrokinetic]], which is what caused all the floods that banished her to [[Exillium]]. When Sophie became an [[Enhancer]], [[Linh Song|Linh]] often put distance between them, fearing that she might flood something again, but in ''[[Book 6: Nightfall|Nightfall]]'' she used Sophie's [[Enhancer|Enhancing]] to save [[Atlantis]].

* [[Marella Redek|'''MARELLA''']]''' (friend)'''

[[Marella]] is Sophie's friend and vice-versa. She and Sophie became friends in [[Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities|''Book'' ''1: Keeper of the Lost Cities'']], but later, when Sophie started hanging out with the [[Vacker]]s, [[Keefe]], and [[Dexter Alvin Dizznee|Dex]] more, [[Marella]] felt left out and started hanging out with [[Stina]]. However, in [[Book 5: Lodestar|''Lodestar'']], [[Marella]] had her hidden [[Skills|ability]] triggered by [[Mr. Forkle]] and started spending more time with Sophie as she uses her abilities to help fight the [[Neverseen]]. Her family name is [[Redek]], and she dislikes nicknames, telling Sophie in the first book, "My name's [[Marella]]. Not Mare. Not Ella. [[Marella]]." However, in [[Book 6: Nightfall|''Nightfall'']], [[Marella Redek|Marella]] was brought back because she manifested as a [[pyrokinetic|Pyrokinetic]] and joined the [[Black Swan]] to help Sophie get her [[Foster (Freeman) Family|human family]] back. In [[Book 7: Flashback|''Flashback'']], [[Marella]] helped Sophie and her friends fight off the baby trolls with her powers.

* '''[[Councillor Oralie|ORALIE]] (supporter/[[Councillors|Councillor]]/biological mother)'''

[[Oralie]] is a Councillor who has constantly supported Sophie since [[Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities]]. She supports the Black Swan and is sometimes consulted in their decisions. She has helped Sophie with numerous projects, from getting her a visit with [[Gethen]] to fixing [[Exillium]]. She is one of Sophie's Councillor contacts for [[Team Valliant|Team Valliant.]] In [[Book 8: Legacy|''Legacy'']], Oralie was revealed to be Sophie's biological mother just after helping Sophie "fix" her [[Enhancer|Enhancing]]. After Sophie learns this, she gets very angry at Oralie for lying to her and avoids her, refusing to even think of Oralie by her name. However, Oralie's cache contains a secret that might be the only way to save Keefe. At the end of [[Legacy]], they agree to work together on opening it.[[File:Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 5.13.32 PM.png|thumb|266x266px|Edaline Ruewen]]

* '''[[Edaline Ruewen|EDALINE]] (adoptive mother)'''

[[Edaline Ruewen|Edaline]] is a sensitive mother when it comes to Sophie being burnt by something, as her first daughter, [[Jolie Lucine Ruewen|Jolie,]] died in a fire. Sophie reminds her of [[Jolie Lucine Ruewen|Jolie,]] as she has said a few times, and that makes it a little painful to look at Sophie sometimes. She had a hard time adjusting to having Sophie in [[Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities|''Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities'']], but she eventually sees Sophie as her daughter. She is also known to be a great [[Verdi|T-rex]] rider, as shown first in [[Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities|''Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities'']]. [[Edaline Ruewen|Edaline]] is a [[Conjurer]], like her late daughter, [[Jolie Lucine Ruewen|Jolie]]. [[Edaline Ruewen|Edaline]] also became very aware of Sophie's safety in [[Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities|''Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities'']] and decides that she should not go into the pastures again to avoid getting hurt. After Sophie discovered that she and [[Grady]] were canceling her adoption, their relationship was very rocky to the point of Sophie never talking to them and ripping off the [[Ruewen]] crest on her cape. When Sophie saw [[Edaline Ruewen|Edaline]] and [[Grady]] in [[Havenfield#Rooms|Jolie's old bedroom]], she overheard part of their conversation and found it easier to try and forgive them. After Sophie was found and returned she decided to stay with them and become part of the [[Ruewen|family]].

<nowiki> </nowiki>[[Edaline Ruewen|Edaline]] is very supportive of Sophie's decisions, as stated in ''[[Book 7: Flashback|Flashback]]''[[Book 7: Flashback|.]] She also often can't help but eavesdrop on Sophie and [[Fitzroy Avery Vacker|Fitz's]] conversations.[[File:Grady ruewen.PNG|thumb|264x264px|Grady Ruewen]]

* '''[[Grady Ruewen|GRADY]] (adoptive father)'''

[[Grady Ruewen|Grady]] is fun, warm, and cheery, but when Sophie is in trouble, he becomes cold and stern. He, like [[Edaline Ruewen|Edaline]], had a hard time adjusting to her, but at the end of [[Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities|''Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities'']], he welcomed her with open arms. [[Grady]] is a [[Mesmer]] and Sophie gets nervous when he uses his talent. [[Grady]] doesn't like [[Keefe]] and he repeatedly calls him "That Boy" in the later books. He also becomes very protective of Sophie in [[Book 2: Exile|''Exile'']] and in [[Book 3: Everblaze|''Everblaze'']], even going to the length of[[Mesmer| Mesmerizing]] the [[Councillors|Council]] into smacking their faces, because the punishment they gave Sophie for reading the [[King Dimitar|ogre king's]] mind was horrible ([[Dexter Alvin Dizznee|Dex's]] [[Ability Restrictor]]). [[File:Alden Pic.png|thumb|244x244px|Alden Vacker]]

* '''[[Alden Vacker|ALDEN]] (friend/father figure)'''

[[Alden Vacker|Alden]] is [[Fitzroy Avery Vacker|Fitz]] and [[Biana Vacker|Biana's]] father. Sophie almost always goes to him with problems and concerns and clues about the [[Black Swan]], but she has kept some things from him, like the [[Spyball]] (she was afraid he would confiscate it, taking away her only access to her [[Foster (Freeman) Family|human family]]). Alden sent his sons on missions to find Sophie and had received a newspaper article leading him to Sophie. Sophie trusts him and he trusts her. In [[Book 2: Exile|''Exile'']], [[Alden Vacker|Alden]] asked Sophie to be his guide when he performed a [[Memory Break|memory break]] on [[Fintan Pyren|Fintan]]. Sophie was very upset when [[Alden Vacker|Alden's]] mind was broken and she was determined to find a way to save him.

* '''[[Mr. Forkle|MR. FORKLE]] (creator/mentor)'''

[[Mr. Forkle]] was Sophie's next-door neighbor in the [[Forbidden Cities]]. He was one of the main [[Elves]] involved with tweaking Sophie's DNA and triggered her [[Telepath]]y when she was five. He trained her mentally at night so she would be an exceptional [[Telepath]]. He became quite involved with Sophie's life after she joined the [[Black Swan]] (which is under his guidance). In [[Book 5: Lodestar|''Lodestar'']], [[Mr. Forkle]] died after being stabbed by [[Gethen]] in [[Lumenaria]]. Despite Sophie's protests, he said, "This is my [[Swan Song|swan song]]." He commanded her to live her own life, to not let grief break her, and he asked [[Keefe]] to help her. The castle in [[Lumenaria]] was destroyed, almost burying him and [[Councillor Oralie]] alive. He had told [[Oralie]] to "take care of my [[moonlark]]." When Sophie discovered "[[Mr. Forkle|Mr. Forkle's]]" identical twin, she assumed that [[Mr. Forkle]] had not perished and had toyed with her emotions. When she learned about the brothers, she understood his decision and planted his tree. In [[Book 4: Neverseen|''Neverseen'']]'','' he is revealed as both [[Sir Astin]] and [[Magnate Leto|Magnate Leto.]]

* [[Silveny|'''Silveny''']] '''(close friend)'''

[[File:Silveny.jpg|thumb|198x198px]] [[Silveny]] is one of the last known living [[Alicorns]]. She is a very fun, energetic, free-spirited, and kind soul, and sometimes she behaves as a motherly figure for Sophie. Sophie meets [[Silveny]] in [[Exile]] while looking for a runaway sasquatch, and Sophie uses her[[Telepath| Telepathy]] to talk to [[Silveny]] and encourage [[Silveny]] to follow her. [[Silveny]] quickly learns to trust Sophie and they become very close friends. Eventually, [[Silveny]] is introduced to [[Greyfell]] (the last living male [[alicorn]]) and as of ''[[Flashback]]'', they have twin babies, [[Wynn]] and [[Luna]]. [[Silveny]] is always there for Sophie and even monitors her dreams sometimes when Sophie is having nightmares. [[Silveny]] also really loves [[Keefe]] who gives her the nickname Glitterbutt, and later Mama Glitterbutt in [[Book 8: Legacy]], after she gets pregnant. She also seems to like [[Linh Song|Linh]], who loves animals.

* '''[[Tiergan|TIERGAN]] ([[Telepath|telepathy]] [[mentor]])'''

[[Tiergan]] is very supportive of Sophie's [[Telepath]]y training. Despite his dislike for the [[Vacker]] family due to [[Prentice|Prentice's]] [[Memory Break|memory break]], he was the first to pair [[Sophie and Fitz]] together for [[Telepath]]y training because they worked so well together. Sophie calls on [[Tiergan]] when she's in need (like when [[Alden Vacker|Alden's]] mind broke) and trusts him with some of her worries. [[Tiergan]] was later revealed to be [[Granite]], a leading member of the [[Black Swan|Black Swan's]] [[The Collective|Collective]].

* '''[[Sandor|SANDOR]] (bodyguard/friend)'''

[[Sandor]] is a strong, stubborn [[Goblins|goblin]] who was charged with taking care of Sophie after she was kidnapped. Though he has a prickly exterior, he has a good heart and cares about Sophie. He helps Sophie out during her investigations and does his best to protect her. His voice, according to Sophie, would better suit a bunny rabbit than a goblin bodyguard. In [[Book 5: Lodestar|''Lodestar'']], he was believed to have a crush on [[Grizel]], which she returned. However, he refused her advances because he felt like he needs to be the best soldier possible and she hindered that. In ''[[Flashback]]'', Grizel admitted she loved Sandor.

* '''[[Calla|CALLA]] (former friend and supporter) (Panakes)'''

[[Calla]] was a [[Gnomes|gnome]] and a member of the [[Black Swan]] and was a part of the team that created Sophie. She taught Sophie how to make [[Starkflower Stew|Starkflower stew]] and liked to call Sophie her 'Brave [[Moonlark]]'. She was always there to calm Sophie. In [[Book 4: Neverseen|''Neverseen'']], she willingly became a [[Panakes]] tree to provide a cure for a plague affecting the gnomes. Afterward, Sophie hung out around the tree often and [[Dexter Alvin Dizznee|Dex]] gave Sophie a [[Panakes]] perfume to always remember Calla by. Later, Sophie got to know her great-niece, [[Flori|Flori,]] at [[Havenfield]].

* '''[[Jensi Babblos|JENSI]] (friend)'''[[File:JENSIIIIIIIII.png|thumb]]

[[Jensi]] was the first guy at [[Foxfire]] to come and talk to Sophie. She likes him, but he doesn't hang out with her a lot because he feels a little left out when she is with the group. [[Jensi]] went back to the "[[Drooly Boys|drooly boys]]" and abandoned the main group eventually. [[Jensi]] was later seen at the training that the [[Exillium|Exillium Coaches]] provided for every [[Lost Cities|Lost City]] citizen, and he was in the Ambi [[Exillium|Hemisphere]] with Sophie, [[Tam Song|Tam,]] and [[Linh Song|Linh.]]

* '''[[Ella|ELLA]] (comforting stuffed animal)'''[[File:Sophie postcard front.jpg|thumb|267x267px]]

[[Ella]] is Sophie's beloved Hawaiian shirt-wearing blue stuffed elephant that she brought from the human world. Sophie cannot sleep without the bright blue elephant. [[Ella]] comforted Sophie when she had to leave her [[Foster (Freeman) Family|human family]]. (This may have led to her friends receiving other stuffed animals, such as [[Mr. Snuggles]], [[Fitzroy Avery Vacker|Fitz's]] stuffed dragon, [[Mrs. Stinkbottom]], [[Keefe Sencen|Keefe's]] stuffed [[gulon]], and [[Lady Sassyfur]], [[Biana Vacker|Biana's]] stuffed yeti, who used to be named Betty-the-Yeti). In [[Book 6: Nightfall|''Nightfall'']] it is mentioned that her sister [[Amy]] has a similar favorite toy, a stuffed bunny, [[Bun-Bun]].

* '''[[Bronte|BRONTE]] (former frenemy/[[Councillors|Councillor]]/[[Mentor]])'''

[[Bronte]] seemed to hate [[Sophie Elizabeth Foster|Sophie]] throughout the first few books but later became nicer to Sophie and more supportive. He is her [[Inflictors|Inflicting]] [[Mentor]]. In ''[[Legacy]]'', Sophie had though [[Bronte]] was her biological parent because inflicting was very rare and [[Bronte]] was the only other [[Inflictor]]. [[Bronte]] has very clearly denied this proposition. He is one of Sophie's Councillor contacts for [[Team Valliant|Team Valliant.]]

* '''[[Councillor Kenric Elgar Fathdon|KENRIC]] (former friend/[[Councillors|Councillor]]/supporter) (Deceased)'''

[[Kenric]] was another [[Councillors|Councillor]] who has always been supportive of Sophie. He was also suspected to be Sophie’s biological father, and [[Mr. Forkle]] assured her that he was not. He was killed at [[Oblivimyre]] when [[Fintan]] ignited [[Everblaze]] to stop [[Sophie Elizabeth Foster|Sophie]] from searching for his memories.

* '''[[Elwin|ELWIN]] (physician/supporter/friend)'''

[[Elwin]] is [[Foxfire|Foxfire's]] healer and has saved Sophie's life multiple times. He also loves animal-themed clothing and stuffed animals, and he has frequently given Sophie's friends stuffed animals. Towards the end of Legacy, he comforts Sophie when she's feeling upset about what happened to [[Keefe Sencen|Keefe.]]

== [[Project Moonlark]] ==

Sophie was originally an experiment by the [[Black Swan]] to acquire a new perspective by having an elf grow up with humans and then come to the [[Lost Cities]]. [[Mr. Forkle]] monitored her closely during this time and even handpicked her [[Foster (Freeman) Family|human family]]. They designed her to have as many strengths and as few weaknesses as possible. This is why she has so many [[abilities]] and also possibly why she has brown eyes.

The identity of her genetic parents was kept the secret from her for a long time, causing her to grow very frustrated with [[Mr. Forkle]]. Only in Book 8: Legacy was it revealed that [[Councillor Oralie]] is her biological mother. After this revelation, she stopped wondering who her biological father is. However, her DNA is not just from her parents. It was also modeled from [[alicorn]] DNA, which is why she can teleport and communicate telepathically with [[Silveny]].

There were a few mistakes that the [[Black Swan]] made. Her [[Inflictor|Inflicting]] and [[Enhancer|Enhancing]] abilities were malfunctioning, so she had to have them reset by drinking [[limbium]], which she is severely allergic to.

Sophie is the main character of the [[Keeper of the Lost Cities: Series|Keeper of the Lost Cities series]]—a girl caught between two worlds, struggling to fit in and still live up to the complicated role she was created for. Her numerous [[abilities]] are shockingly powerful—especially for someone her age—and she tends to see things differently than everyone else, in large part because of her [[Humans|human]] upbringing. She’s also fierce and brave and never backs down from what she believes is right. “I'd rather be punished for making the right decision than live with the guilt of making the wrong one the rest of my life.”

—Sophie Foster, in Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities

Sophie Elizabeth Foster is the main protagonist in the Keeper of the Lost Cities series. She is 15 years old in the Elvin world, as stated in Book 8: Legacy. She has attended Foxfire Academy, the only noble school in the Lost Cities, for levels two (Keeper of the Lost Cities), three (Exile, Everblaze, Lodestar, and Nightfall), and four (Flashback, Legacy). She temporarily attended Exillium in Neverseen with Fitz, Dex, Keefe, and Biana. She is allergic to limbium. She, after Grady and Edaline Ruewen adopted her, did not take Ruewen as her last name.

Physical Appearance
