Little is known about Sir Donwell, other than the fact that he sometimes monitors detention. His "form of torture" is reading classic dwarven poetry to the prodigies, which traumatizes them so much so that Keefe says he "hates anything that rhymes from here on out". It was once hoped that he wouldn't monitor detention.
