Shadow-Whispering is a special skill to Shades that allows them to spread parts of their consciousness via shadows. Like telepathically transmitting, a Shade is able to communicate with one or more elves, while silent to those nearby. It is described as sounding like somebody is whispering very close to one's ear. When shadow whispering, a person's shadow reaches out to the person they are whispering to. It is first used in Book 4: Neverseen by Tam Song to communicate to Sophie Foster.
