A Match-Fail is filed for when two elves, who were previously matched and got married, want to part ways and stop being a married couple. It is similar to a human divorce[1]. It is supposedly very uncommon, considering that in Nightfall, Sophie didn't even know something like a divorce even existed in the Lost Cities.
Note that this is not to be confused with a bad match, where two elves marry even though they are not on each others Matchmaking Lists. However, like a bad match, it causes drama.
