This article is about match-fails. You may be looking for a Bad Match.

A Match-Fail is filed for when two elves, who were previously matched and got married, want to part ways and stop being a married couple. It is comparable to a human divorce[1]. It is supposedly very uncommon, considering that in Nightfall, Sophie didn't even know something like a divorce even existed in the Lost Cities.

Note that this is not to be confused with a bad match, where two elves marry even though they are not on each other's Matchmaking Lists. However, it is considered equally scandalous as a bad match.

Known Match-Fails
