Marty is Sophie Foster's cat from the human world, and it is shown that she cares deeply about her beloved pet. It is mentioned in Keeper of the Lost Cities that Marty was Sophie’s only friend. It can be noted that Marty has gray fluffy fur.

Pre-Keeper[]
It was mentioned by Mr. Forkle that Sophie had found Marty in a bush when she was younger and begged her parents to let her keep him as her pet cat. Her parents decided to do so and Marty became Sophie's pet cat and only friend.
Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities[]
When Sophie is about to leave with Fitz to her "own" world, she hugs Marty and assures her cat that her little sister Amy will take care of him.
Book 4: Neverseen[]
Mr. Forkle mentions that he knows Sophie found Marty in a bush and begged her parents to let her keep him. Sophie reminisces about Marty's crackly purr when listening to Iggy.
Book 5: Lodestar[]
Sophie mentions that she once helped her human mom give Marty medicine, but the amount of yowling he did made it sound like they had been trying feed him poison.
Book 6: Nightfall[]
Alden shows Sophie his shredded sleeves from taking Marty and Watson down the whirlpool to Atlantis to reach the secret level in the apartment where Amy was to stay.

- Marty is named after Shannon Messenger's cat Marty (who sadly passed away on 1/21/2019).
