Linguistics is an Elite Foxfire subject that studies languages, including ogre, gnome, troll, and all human languages. This class is usually only available to prodigies in Level Eight; however, Sophie Foster is allowed to attend this class because of her ability as a Polyglot starting in Exile. This class also includes the study of Mimicry.

- "Master the languages of all the intelligent creatures -- including humans -- and learn to mimic accents and pronunciation. Please note: this is an elite level session and only available to Level Eight prodigies (unless special permission is granted by the Council)."[1]
