Gora and Yuri's Fungus Garden is a fungus garden located in Alluveterre (one of the Black Swan's hideouts). It was first mentioned in Neverseen. According to the name of the garden as given by Mr. Forkle, it can be assumed that Gora and Yuri - two gnomes who are part of the Black Swan - maintain it.
Description[]
It is an enormous cave filled with giant glowing blue mushrooms and walls covered in twinkling glints of purple.
“She [Sophie] felt like Alice in Wonderland as she sat on a toadstool as big as a table.”
The Fungus and its Benefits[]
The mushrooms along with glinting purple mold on the walls of cave create a musty scent, which when inhaled makes emotions more potent. It also clears the mind from distractions.
However, the effects fungus(es) is incredibly subtle.
“It sounds fun to have a fungus rush!”
The Cognate Exercise[]
Sophie Foster and Fitz Vacker worked on honing their connection as cognates. Since emotions are a big part of telepathy they worked with each other's mind's emotional center, trying to guess what the others emotion was by going in each other's mind's emotional center.
Mr. Forkle who was monitoring the task did something to a person (Sophie or Fitz) and the other guessing by the color that flashed in their emotional center would say what they thought the person felt.
