Frosters are elves with the special ability of cryokinesis. This means that they can manipulate ice particles in the air to freeze whatever they want. In Keeper of the Lost Cities, Dex and Marella were tested for this ability at Foxfire by being put in an extremely hot oven for the whole period. Some Frosters can also cover themselves with ice as a disguise (as seen in Neverseen with Squall's disguise). Dex describes frosting as a useless ability, even though his own mother is one.
