The Enlightened Language is the universal language that the elves and all the other intelligent species speak, excluding Humans. It is said to sound like a baby babbling to normal humans. Elvin newborns start speaking the Enlightened Language from the moment they are born. Della was once explaining how cute elvin babies are when they are first born and say "hello" to their parents, and Sophie was momentarily surprised due to her forgetting of elvin newborns' fluency in the language. After Sophie's human family's memories were wiped in Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities they were given a subconscious understanding of the Enlightened Language. Currently, not very much is known about the language.
