A DNA Strip (aka DNA Sensor) is a small silver square that warms up, projects a strand of DNA, and flashes the green word, "Match," across the hologram if the DNA matches what the strip is looking for. Elves often use them as a security measure, even in houses.
DNA strips are coded locks, but instead of a number or letter combination, they take DNA.
Official Description[]
Anything meant to remain "secure" in the Lost Cities can only be accessed by providing the necessary DNA (generally through saliva) on these small, subtly placed strips/sensors. Some sensors - like those on the lockers at Foxfire - even change flavor.
