Based on a comment on the Sokeefe Page. All the boys are dared into having a singing competition, what comes out of it is drama, high stakes, and an all-important dare. There will also be Sokeefe, Dexiana, and Wylinh. Warning: This is my first fan-fic so It probably won't be any good. Enjoy!
Chapter One: The Idea: Sophie's POV
Sophie and her friends sat slumped against the Panakes tree. It was a hot summer day and they'd spent the whole day researching, so they could be prepared for the next time the Neerseen struck. Sweat beaded down Sophie's forehead and her brow furrowed as she searched through pages of notes. There had to be something there that could help them take down the Neverseen. But so far she had scanned the half page of notes 57 times and counting and had found nothing new. A heavy sigh came from the handsome blonde boy next to her.
"We've been doing this for seven hours! And as much as I love research and pointless study, I was planning on pranking Father Dearest tonight," Keefe whined. He had started doodling on his hand and in the margins of his book. His eyes were pleading and full of mischief as he turned to look at her.
"I know this isn't fun, but it'll help us," Sophie explained. But she wasn't sure she believed those words anymore. They had almost nothing, just that it'd be big, bad, and Lady Gisela was behind it. She knew that all of her friends were bored, but getting the leg up on the Nevereseen had to be worth it. Right?
"I agree with Keefe, I've read the same page five times in a row and still don't understand it," Fitz admitted. His teal eyes locked with Sophie's as if to say "I'm sorry". But all Sophie felt was betrayal. She crossed her arms across her chest, hoping her pouting would give her an advantage. It did not, But someone had to agree with her on this, she couldn't be the only one, right? Then she spotted Wylie. He was mature, he'd get it right?
"Well, what do you think Wylie?" She smiled, Wylie was always calm, cool, and the only sane one in the group. Sophie knew her plan would work. And on the plus side, Wylie loved books. She hoped he'd see reason and side with her on this one. He tugged on his cape nervously and slumped against the tree. This was not a good sign, but Sophie tried to keep her hopes up.
"I actually think we could use a break. I mean, we've spent all day on this Sophie. Do you really want to risk your friend's happiness for a little info?" He had a point, but Sophie would never admit it. And to be honest, information was crucial. But she knew her friends were upset. Even Linh, who was often always happy to help, had frown etched across her face. The girl had been toying with her hair for the last 30 minutes and as far as Sophie could tell, was bored out her mind. But Sophie wasn't about to give up, this was for her friends' own good.
"Someone has to agree with me, right?" She asked, her chestnut-colored eyes settling on Tam. He never agreed with Keefe, they were frenemies after all. It was Sophie's last desperate move. She knew he had to come through or she'd been done for. She tugged an itchy eyelash as she focused on his soft features. The silver banged boy shook his head.
"As much as it pains me to say it," He let out a heavy sigh "Keefe has a point and I seriously can't take his whining any longer," Tam stated. Keefe had a huge smirk on his face.
"Looks like you lose, Foster. I know research is important to you, but so is fun. So it's time to let loose a little. Anyone have any ideas for what to do?" Everyone's hands shot up. Sophie waved them away and she sent Keefe a huge glare and vowed to get back at him later. But first, she had to get everyone back on track. She opened up her mouth to explain her point, when she was cut off by Ro.
"Listen Blondie, we're all dying out here. It's boring and hot, and not to mention full of whiny teenagers. How about we have some fun. We all know you want to. So why not relax and get a leg up on the boys with a fun game," Ro tilted her head in Keefe's direction. That seriously was a very tempting offer, but Sophie went back to looking at her notes.
"I'm in!" Biana chirped and Linh, Marella, and Stina soon nodded their agreement. So with a heavy heart, Sophie sighed, fidgeting with some of the panakes blossoms on the ground.
"I guess I'm outnumbered. But what are we even going to do?" She leaned back against the tree. For a second everyone was silent. She could even hear Keefe softly tapping his feet against the ground. Then, Ro fished a long scroll from her back pocket.
"We'll have a singing competition! Boys only and the girls will judge. It'll be like one of those human shows, what was it called? American Idol? It doesn't matter. But in my version the winner gets to dare everyone else, including the girls. I of course will be the announcer and will be spilling the tea on each performance. So you guys in or what?" Everyone cheered at Ro's plan, then turned to Sophie for her approval. She gave an excited nod. This would be fun. There'll be no drama. It'll just all be fun, it's not like anything life-changing will happen she thought. Never in Sophie's life, had she been more wrong.
