CHAPTER 1
.
Irene pushed back her chair and sighed.
Why did her grandparents have to be so…so...mean?
She lived in a HUGE house. More like a capital. It had at least 20 bed rooms, 23 bathrooms, 3 parlors rooms and double of all the other rooms you could think of. Perfect life, right? Nope. Her Parents had died when she was one from night air, like she believed that. Her grandparents were frozen, mean, stuck up. They never allowed her to do anything fun . It would be better if she had some friends, but no one wanted to be anyway. Stupid life .She was supposed to be doing a school play, but she didn’t have any clue on how to write a play. And it didn’t have to be done for a month so she have to do it right away. It was 5:23 in the morning. She had to leave for school in one hour, so she better get ready. Irene sighed. I’ll put my hair in a French braid, she decided. Half an hour later she had her curly blonde hair in a French braid, a quarter sleeve dark pine green shirt on with navy boot cut jeans and some simple makeup. Irene walked down stairs to eat her breakfast.
“ where have you been?” asked grandmother her high, frozen voice. Irene repressed a sigh.
“ Getting ready for school grandmother.”
“humph ’’, grandmother sniffed.” Very likely story.” Irene ground her teeth. SHE WAS SO ANOYYING. She quickly slurped down French toast and downed the milk.
BEEP BEEP.
“The bus is here Irene,”grandmother said. I’m fourteen , I’m not dumb, thought Irene.
“I know grandmother, goodbye.”
Half an hour later
As her class sat for study hall, Irene noticed a boy she had never seen before in her class. The boy had messy blonde hair and ice blue eyes, and looked about seventeen. He was super cute. She was sure that every girl in the school already had a crush on him. He suddenly looked up right at her. Oh no, thought Irene as she looked away, he saw me gawking at him. She glanced his way again quickly and saw him get up and come her way. Ahhhhh! Irene panicked. She had never talked to girls, much less boys. She looked for some way out. There was none. Now he was already a few feet away. Better talk she thought.
“Hello,” she said. The boy smiled. Wow Irene thought, he’s even more handsome closer.
“Hi, I’m Keefe”
“I’m Irene”
“Nice name”, Keefe answered.
“Thank you”
Keefe sat down beside her. “So what’s it like here?” he asked,”I was home-schooled before.”
“Oh, it’s ok, I don’t like it though.”So he was homeschooled, she knew nothing about that. Except that you’re schooled at home.
“Ha ha, yeah school isn’t fun, I ditch when I can.” He laughed.
“Well, it’s time to go to our class.” said Irene. Wait, didn’t say he was homeschooled?”Didn’t you say you where homeschooled?” Keefe looked really fidgety.
“Well...I…um…was public schooled then homeschooled.”
“Oh. I’ll deal with you lying later thought Irene.” well we better get going to class.”
“Ok, how do we get there?”Asked Keefe.
“C’mon, I’ll show you” Irene couldn’t believe she was making a friend. Keefe would be her first real friend. Who would’ve known it would be a boy.
A little bit later she found out that Keefe was also very smart. He answered every question right and made the whole schools look like dunces including the teachers. She walked over with Keefe and put her food tray o a table.
“Irene, do you know if there are any more veggies?” Keefe asked
Irene looked up and saw that he only had veggies and bread on his tray. What kind of person didn’t like meat?
“There are hamburgers or hotdogs.” She suggested. Keefe fidgeted.
“I’m allergic to meat.” he explained.
Irene frowned. He was hiding something from her. Why though? “Oh, I don’t know then.”
“I should have packed my own lunch.”
“Yeah, they don’t have many veggies here,” Irene answered slowly.
“That’s what I’ll do next time then,” Keefe said.Though he sounded worried
