Chapter One
Faces swam around in Keefe's mind. His head ached from trying to remember all of them.
Sophie.
Alden.
A face popped up that Keefe couldn't remember. He knew it was important. He was so close to remembering.
Fitz.
A pang of emotion hit Keefe's heart. Not guilt. Or anger. It was... jealousy. A flood of information rushed back into his head. He was jealous of Fitz, his best friend, for getting the only girl he had ever wanted, Sophie.
Keefe groaned. His head felt like it was splitting apart. There were a shout and a crash.
"Keefe!" said a voice. Keefe wanted to open his eyes, but they stung. His head was throbbing. He wanted to sleep. He felt gentle hands stroke the side of his face.
"Sleep, Keefe. Sleep. You're going to be okay," the voice said. Keefe smiled and fell into sleep thinking one thing...
Sophie.
