(So, basically, a troubled girl travels to the Forbidden Cities on accident and decides to stay there. And eventually falls in love with a human boy. Until an accident happens)
Annika Vey slowly opened her eyes, then quickly shut them. She forgot to close her curtains again. She sat up slowly and stretched while yawning. What time was it? She looked at her clock; it was only eight-thirty. She snuggled back down, ready to go back to sleep, when it hit her. Today was her first day as a Level Five! She quickly got up and ran to her closet, with speed she didn't know she posesed, and threw on her uniform. She brushed her strawberry blonde hair out of her face and put it up in a messy bun while running down the stairs. "Good morning!" she greeted her aunt and uncle, her aquamarine eyes shining. And, as usual, her aunt didn't say anything, just nodded, and her uncle grinned. "Good morning Anni!" he replied "You seem excited." Annika nodded "Yep!" she bubbled. "I don't think I recall Foxfire being exciting" Annika's aunt remarked. After a pause her uncle cleared his throat "Well....you better eat, Annika. You might be late." Annika nodded "Alright" she said, then added as if it was an afterthought, "I'll think I'll go now" she quickly grabbed two ripplefluffs, walked to the Leapmaster and shouted "Foxfire!" and stepped into the light before her uncle could protest.
Annika smiled to herself as she arrived at Foxfire. She loved school. And she loved learning. She was digging through her locker when she heard a voice behind her. "I don't care if muskmelon gives you indigestion I'm daring you to eat it." Annika grinned and spun on her heel to face her best friend Veela with her sorta-boyfriend Loukas. "Hello!" Annika said. "Hey!" Veela and Loukas said at the same time. Veela gave her a hug "I've missed you!" she said. "It's been, like, two weeks" Annika laughed. "I know. So long ago" Veela responded and then started laughing too. The bells started to chime. "Oop, got to go. Bye, Anni!" Veela said, and took Loukas's hand and ran off. Annika smiled and quickly grabbed her books and also ran off in the direction of her Conjurer session.
She was busy thinking about who her mentor was going to be when she ran straight into someone. "Oh my word, I'm so sorry!" an accented voice said. "It's okay" Annika said, rubbing her forehead, and started picking up the books that she dropped. "Here, let me help" the voice said again. Once all her books were picked up she was able to get a good look at the boy. He had carefuly styled black hair and dark blue almost black eyes. He was actually rather good looking, Annika thought to herself while blushing. "Here" he said, handing her home crystal to her. She never wore it, just shoved it in her pocket most of the time. It apparantly slipped out. "Thanks." she said, not knowing where to look. "Well.....I'm Alec" the boy said. "Annika" she replied, returning his smile. Then almost face palmed. "Sorry I have to go. Bye! Nice meeting you!" she said, smiling, and ran off
After school Annika stood around her locker, hoping to see Veela and to tell her about Alec. She was also slightly hoping to see Alec himself. Annika sighed after standing for thirty minutes. Veela probably went somewhere with Loukas, she figuered. Annika held her home crystal to the light and stepped into it.
This.......is not home, Annika thought. Her big eyes even bigger then usual. People were everywhere. Not just people, Annika paled, humans. She was in an alleyway, a rather bad smelling alleyway at that. Where in the name of mallowmelt am I!? she thought and began to pace. Wearing her Foxfire uniform did not help things. Good thing she was a Polygot, though, at least she could communicate. She dug through her pockets, silently cursing when she remembered she left her imparter in her locker. Great. No way of telling her uncle and aunt where she was. They are going to freak. Or at least her uncle would. Annika took a deep breath and began to slowly and cautiously walk out of the alleyway. She had gotten quite a few stares as she speed-walked towards what seemed to be a park, which was thankfully empty.
Liam Ellis was more then happy to leave his house. His parents arguing was getting to him and his dad already slapped him upside the face so he left as quick as he could. He walked to a nearby park and sat down on one of the benches, only a slight bit upset that someone was already sitting there. Oh well, he thought and plugged in his earbuds to listen to his music playlist. Mostly consisting of rap, electronic, and some pop. He was halfway through listening to a song when he realized the someone next to him was staring. At him. He removed his earbuds "Can I help you?" he said to her, somewhat rudely. Her eyes were a unsual color. Aquamarine. Contact lenses, to be sure, he thought. Her eyes grew big. "What's that? she said softly. "What's what?" he said, getting more annoyed.
