You don't "deserve" someone. Sophie isn't some kind of prize. She chooses who she wants to choose. She's not going to choose someone because of their terrible past. You can meet someone with an unfortunate past, but that's not going to make you fall in love with them, is it? No relationship solely based on looks lasts, and Sophie and Fitz have trusted each other and had a strong bond for like 8 books. Fitz isn't "ugly, cruel, and ruthless." He's normal and realistic. He gets upset at Sophie twice throughout the whole series and apologizes with a heartfelt, genuine apology. If Sophie only like the teal eyes, then why isn't she in a relationship with Biana, or Alvar? She likes Fitz for so much more than that. She likes Fitz because they both trust each other, care for each other, and have been through hard times ehere they comforted each other. So what their relationship has had it's ups and downs? You can't expect your significant other to agree with you in everything, to ignore their own thoughts in favor of yours, or to have you be the only thought in their head. If people expect that, then that just means Keefe has tricked you. Sophie didn't "dump" Fitz. They both decided that they weren't ready for a relationship. What makes you think that when Keefe comes in Sophie suddenly won't be not ready anymore? Fitz has imperfections, and that's okay because that's human, and everyone else has imperfections too. You say that Fitz is "perfect" and Keefe is "not perfect," but Keefe is definitely more of an unrealistic Gary Stu, and Sokeefe is much too unhealthy to be in a relationship. Having a traumatic past doesn't mean you should get someone you like and they're magically going to erase that. It means you need therapy.
I thank you right now. You are awesome.
You are welcome :)
Hermabeth Foster btw those first few sentences you wrote... "You don't "deserve" someone. Sophie isn't some kind of prize. She chooses who she wants to choose" Keefe said that loll (Read Keefe's short story in Flashback, it also proves my point in the next paragraph. But if you don't want to read it all over again, here is the important part, summed up by Ro. "Ro says that Alden just wants to keep "his spoiled son happy" by "getting rid of the competition."")
Here comes my next point! The rich kid (this being Fitz) the spoiled one who's father had to step in so Keefe would back off and Fitz could date Sophie. (Keefe never told her about that, by the way!) If Shannon allows them to be together for the rest of the books, that sends the wrong message. "If your rich and spoiled, you will always win." (Which I think is EXTREMELY wrong)
Now Keefe is definetely the underdog. He had an abusive childhood and his parents are both trashbags. And I see what you mean by "Having a traumatic past doesn't mean you should get someone you like and they're magically going to erase that", Hermabeth Foster, Sophie shouldn't pity him for his past. Keefe literally said, "Whatever you see in there, don't pity me." When Sophie was going to search Lord Grumpypant's mind. He doesn't want Sophie to pity him and like him because of that. He wants her to see him for who is really is.
Also, I wanted to point out that you said "human". They are elves. "Fitz has imperfections, and that's okay because that's human, and everyone else has imperfections too."
"You can't expect your significant other to agree with you in everything, to ignore their own thoughts in favor of yours," This should be a reference to Sophie's biological parent's search. Here is a quote from Legacy, proving my point that Sophie is sumbitting to Fitz's wishes because she doesn't want to make him angry and is scared to tell him the truth. Ro asks, "If Sophie decided she didn't want to find out who her biological parents are, and didn't want anyone else to look into it either, what would you say?" Fitz replies, "Why would she do that?" Ro says, "I told you not to answer." Fitz retorts, "I didn't." Time skipping to when Keefe and Ro leave, Fitz asks Sophie that same question. "Would you?" Sophie is confused (As always) "Would I what?" Fitz clarifies, "You know... what Ro was asking. Decide you don't want anyone to find out who your biological parents are." Sophie says, "Oh." She is thinking about the 'right' answer and the truth. She goes with something in the middle. "Why would I do that?" And Fitz looks relieved. (Proof he cares more about is reputation than Sophie) "Exactly."
Sorry, I'm skipping back to the top of what you said. "Sophie and Fitz have trusted each other and had a strong bond for like 8 books." They didn't have a strong bond for 8 straight books. Let's not forget the explosion of anger by Fitz in book 2 and his unstability (Even though they were together!!) In Flashback.
That sums up most of my points here, I should've ended it with the first paragraph because that's the strongest, but I think I did pretty well. Sorry I was so late (lol) and if you do end up replying to me, I might take a couple days to create another argument for Team Foster-Keefe. If you are reading this message, I would greatly appreciate it if you either replied or commented that you saw this, I'm trying to gauge how active this thread is. So yeah, thank you!

Oh! I forgot to add! Even if Sophie finds her bio parents, the matchmakers won't pair them together anyways. They are both Telepaths, and since matchmakers whole purpose is to insure variability in genetics, they wouldn't put two Telepaths together. Plus, we don't know any couples (Matchmaker approved and not) that have the same ability. And if they aren't matchable, that will destroy Fitz.

Aak, I didn't see this
