Blur is a Phaser and is a member of the Black Swan's Collective, along with Mr. Forkle, Squall, Wraith, and Granite. To disguise himself, he breaks his body down and reforms partially, leaving the only parts of his body visible as splotches of color and blurred lines. He was first introduced in Neverseen and makes appearances in Lodestar and Nightfall.
Many fans think that Blur's identity is Jensi's older brother, Fernan Babblos. Fernan is a Phaser, the same ability that Blur has. In Nightfall, Blur says that his identity comes with a "looooooooong explanation,"[Citation needed] that Physic thinks is boring compared to hers. During the boat ride with Lady Cadence in Nightfall, Blur comes with them and is frequently splashed by water. Part of his disguise fades and Sophie notices that he was skinnier and shorter than she had once thought, suggesting that he is a younger character. He is splashed once more, revealing that he has full lips and round cheeks. We know that Jensi is often described as "round cheeked" which gives us yet another small clue that Fernan may be Blur. Sophie also thinks he looks somewhat familiar. He also says that he is "definitely" not a Councillor, implying he might be younger or more lower-class than some of the others, like Granite or Physic.
